Wild Dog Farms is located in South Central Manitoba in the beautiful Pembina Valley. The name of our company comes from our two dogs, a Blue Heeler and a Labrador Retriever. They love to chase the deer, squirrels, our cats, skunks?*!, and anything else that moves in the fields, the woods, or along the creek side that make up our property.
Our Beeswax candles are made with pure beeswax, without any perfumes, dyes, or other waxes added. The wax we use comes from our own bees and from a bee keeper about 10 miles down the road from our home. The wicks we use are 100% cotton and do not contain any poly fibers or lead threads to stiffen the wick.
We make the candles in a shop on our property. The shop is heated by solar heaters in the winter, and electricity is provided by photoelectric modules and our wind turbine. We make all the candles ourselves by hand without any machinery.
We even dip the tapers by hand, starting with just the wick, and after up to 30 dips in the molten wax tank, we have a finished pair of tapers.
